Ask Skies questions in this thread if I'm gone
Aside from new steam-punk technology, the year is 1890, this isn't a hard rule, and there are tech exceptions, but refer to this year if you have any random irrelevant tech question.
Washing machines, AC units, and other convenience things are also a new development, but are sold in cities. Radio is a thing, listen to your favorite shows!
In terms of historical events, case by case basis, there are things different about this timeline.
The character limit is 4
Only 2 of your characters may start with the main party
You may make characters that get picked up on the way (You'll see what I mean)
If you wish to make a character with a Yevamary biomod, here are the available options to most of the public
ANGEL - Sewed on wings that are basically functional, allow you to fly, and generally optimize your body for flight. Yevamary's ONLY 99%-safe operation.
Climber - Allows you to climb up flat, smooth surfaces (like a blimp!) in order to fix things, or recreational use. (A little clunky, if you wash your hands with bleach then the sticky stuff may cease to function.)
Any other operation is somewhat exclusive to test subjects, the closer you are to Yevamary HQ (Moscow), the weirder they can get, message Nitrox for more info.
In terms of social issues--
There isn't much Hispanic representation in the developed world, but the other major races are represented. There isn't much racism, especially compared to the income divide present. Women and men are fairly equal in most cases, however it isn't considered socially proper for women to be 'making moves' in a relationship. But, with progress marching on, this social norm is consistently ignored.
Despite a lack of overt racism/sexism, there are still many prejudices. People typically have friends from their area/race, be they African/East Asian/Euro/American, however these prejudices rarely cross over in to the professional world, due to efforts made by the big companies to cure social issues in favor of technological and economical progress.
There are an amount of transgender people publicly in eastern Europe due to Yevamary's ability to perform sex change operations.
