Inspired by Type Moon's "Fate" series
Sanctum is where all Mana originates. Mana is raw power that can be manipulated in an art known as Magecraft. All mages have a small amount of Mana that is supplied by Sanctum. However, there exists a key... an artifact that has the power to open the gates to Sanctum for the use of one person, and one person only. And when that person eventually meets his or her demise, the key is sealed away and a great battle emerges – a war between those who all seek the Key to Sanctum.
A lucky few will receive, one way or another, the means to summon a Heroic Spirit – an incarnation of an ancient hero to fight alongside them. A small supply of Mana is required to sustain this spirit's physical form, but it is well worth it – Heroic Spirits contain incredible power. Day is a time of rest, and Night is a time of chaos. The winner will receive the Sanctum Key, which will grant them unlimited power until their time is up in this world.
Thus the Sanctum War begins, a battle royale between determined mages and the spirits that fight alongside them.
The Competition
This CST is a competition among writers. Each participant creates a mage character to participate in the Sanctum War. At the end of the first day, each mage summons a heroic spirit and the war begins. Widm, the game master, will create all of the Heroic Spirit characters, and assign them to the participants.
Every night cycle, all mages along with their spirits (and by extension, all participants) will engage in a battle against each other. First, you engage with another mage within the story. Submit to Widm your version of the battle. Be sure to be very detailed and write the best story you can. When you are finished, He will judge the battle and determine the winner, which will be considered CANON and posted in the main thread. Once all mages have participated and all writers have finished, Widm will complete the Night Cycle. Among the losing writers, Widm will decide the one that performed the worst. This writer is eliminated from the competition. Soon after in the story the eliminated writer must make a final post for their mage's death or surrender from the competition. After all of this, the remaining participants post for the daytime for things such as your mage's preparation for the next night. Your collective story among your day and night posts will have an impact on your survival. After the day post, the cycle continues and night falls again, ensuing in another battle. In the event of a night in which there are an odd number of participants, the participant from the previous night whom Widm has determined to have the best battle will receive immunity and not have to partake in a battle. This Day-Night cycle continues until there are only two remaining... and the showdown ensues.
May the best writer win.
